Is it ok to omit MBA degree in a resume, to get a job in public accounting firm?

my friend just did and got an offer, but he feels like he is being "un ethical" should he just reveale it?

it depends on the postition. i believe most accounting firms dont require you to have an MBA. if you believe that your past work experiences weight more than your MBA degree, you can omit the MBA degree and put more description on what were your job responsiblities and such.
make your resume fit into the job you are seeking rather than listing all the degrees you have.
good luck

I can't think of any advantage to omitting an MBA unless there is a fear of being overqualified. The MBA is a valuable credential which indicates to employers that the applicant is knowledgeable in the area of business and ambitious in achieving his career goals.

No, it is only unethical if you ADD information that you are not qualified for.

Repeat after me . PUBLIC accounting.
That implies integrity. Why the hell did he screw things up by no admitting this in the first place???
It;s not like he flunked out of college , is it?U thought an MNA was a major achievement! Why the hell do people do this??????

I don't think it is unethical. It is not like you claim to have an MBA degree but you actually don't. Some companies do not want to hire over qualified people because they think there is got to be something wrong with the person. It's like you are a doctor but you are applying for a janitor job. No, your friend should not reveal it. Good luck!

No. The system of degrees and pedigrees is not that important when it comes to true ethics, in my opinion.

Unethical behavior would be doing something that could harm someone.

I don't see a reason for your friend to be overzealous or influenced by self-righteousness in this instance.

Slick Willy betraying his wife, daughter and country would be a prime example of unethical conduct. If only he had the concern your friend does.

Honesty is always best when seeking employment!

Also anytime you will be working with people's money, books, loans etc....integrity and honesty or a must!

AND YES HE SHOULD BE HONEST AND CALL THE HR person right away!
