What is resume in words format?

I've sent my e-mail attached resume using microsoft words. But, employers will replied me back and said write ur resume in words format. what does it mean? is it using microsoft office outlook to send the resume? can yahoo e-mail address add to microsoft office outlook?

If you're using MS Word Vista (2007), you're probably sending in the default .docx format. The employers may well be using an older version of Word that doesn't understand that format, but expects a .doc format.

To fix this, when you save the file,

1. Do a Save As.
2. Scroll down in the Save as Type list box and select Word 97-2003 format.
3. Click the Save button.

The resume file itself needs to be in Microsoft Word (*.doc) and it needs to be sent as an attachment to the Outlook e-mail. Follow the Outlook instruction closely. If the resume, however, contains the kind of errors that are in this Question, you might want to take another look at it.
