For my acting resume, should I include a play I am in if it is only currently in production?

I am in a play right now, but it will be performed 2 months from now. If I am working on submissions to different agencies, should I include this play on my resume?

For your resume, you should include the play, but you need to be sure to iclude the information that it is currently in production. Thus, potential employeers will be informed of all roles you have been cast in, and thus your potential range.

No, you only list productions in which you have actually performed.

You should, however, mention the play in your cover letter, unless you fear that they might attend and you feel it's a bad example of your abilities.

If you feel it's a good example, you should invite them and arrange for complimentary tickets. About 10 days before the production, send a reminder postcard with your headshot and invite them again.

If you're interviewed, I would tell them you are currently in this play, or mention it in your cover letter, or send an advertisement.

What I learned about resumes is that nobody cares how many things you've done, it's where you've done them and with whom. People go into auditions with dozens of summer stock credits that no one cares about. Use credits for the best known theater, the best director, anything that included a star, and a few representative parts in summer stock. Also list your teachers. With today's technology, if you've played a lead that's auditioning and you've left it off your resume, you can easily add it before sending your resume in.

yes

yes of course why wouldn't you. Simply note that this position is current/in production. I would always include my current job so why wouldn't you?

You were cast in the play. It's a legitimate credit. By all means, include it.

No doubt about it! A credit is a credit and it will only help you.The more you have, the better so that an agent or casting director can better assess your abilities. That said,if you can back up a lie(like I did once) so much the better if it gets you a chance to show what you can do!

yup... unless you think they won't hire you because they think you're already busy, so don't really want the new job. but better to include it than to leave it out.

Yes!

yes it show that you are active and not just waiting around for your big break
