Applying for a job I really want?

I'm apply for a job that I really want! What can I do to help get the job?

I'm an 18 year old female and have worked in a home daycare since I was 10. The job I am apply for is a children's photographer.

It also asks for a resume, how do I write a resume? What should I include, what shouldn't I?

would it be better to apply online or in person at the store?

Make sure you include a resume and a cover letter. You can look up different websites to help you. In Microsoft word, they have resume templates, but you would want to write it on your own. Just get an idea of what to put on your resume and then start from scratch; it looks better. For a cover letter, you want to first enter in your name, address, phone number, and email address. Then add in the date followed by the recipient's name, title, and address. The first paragraph is an opener of who you are, how you found the job, and requesting for an interview. The second paragraph is usually why you would be a good fit for the company. Close with a forward looking statement, i.e.-I look forward to hearing from you.

If you submit your resume on line, do not have anything in italics or underline. Some companies have databases, and if the characters are not recognizable then it will just toss it out. I personally think applying in person is a much better statement, but if you really want the job, do both!

A resume is a summary of your good points, and especially how they relate to the job you are applying for. You can go on Google to see how to set up a resume properly. Yes, you would do better if you went in person to apply.

1. Call the store and politely ask when is it the best time to come in and apply for the job. Ask the person on the phone, who you need to ask for when you arrive.

2. Apply in person. Dress up. Wear clothing that befits a work environment. (No jeans, tennis shoes, flip flops, no bare midriffs...you get the idea.) Keep perfume and make up to a minimum.

3. There are resume templates available on Microsoft's website:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templa...

4. Detail your expereince working with children and any photography expereince you have.

5. If you don't have professional work experience provide personal references. Don't use friends, use teachers, your pastor, your principal or guideance counselor, any adult (other than family members) who can vouge for you being a responsible, level headed and trustworthy individual.

Good Luck!
